Make your way through a rocky river canyon to a 10th century monastery, where you can camp, stargaze, and wake up to the sound of church bells and the chants of monks.  

Starting in Gndevaz village, this trail connects the village and the nearby Gndevank monastery complex with the Kechut Reservoir. You’ll hike through the Arpa River Canyon, known for its rich flora, fauna, and impressive rock formations, passing by the Herer Open Woodland and Jermuk Forest state sanctuaries. Fun fact: parts of this trail are actually ancient footpaths once used by ancient Armenians, and still used today by wild animals.
