The Khachardzan–Aghavnavank trail is only 3.9 km long, making it one of the shortest sections of the Armenian National Trail in Tavush. The hike is easy and follows a mostly flat route with no uphill sections. This makes it a great option for a relaxed walk, especially after completing more challenging trails in Tavush.
The route starts in the center of Khachardzan village and continues toward the H-30 highway. The Getik River, flowing alongside the asphalt road, accompanies the hike all the way to Aghavnavank. The dirt road leading into Aghavnavank stretches for about one kilometer before reaching the central junction of the village. Along this section, you will pass a well-known local fruit spirits distillery called Dilvados, where you can stop for a tasting experience.
In the center of Aghavnavank, you will find a grocery store, a water source, and a couple of accommodation options for an overnight stay. From there, the trail continues toward Dzoravank village with another short hike.
