The trail between Aghavnavank and Dzoravank spans 3.8 kilometers. This is an important section of the Armenian National Trail, as it connects the two provinces of Tavush and Gegharkunik. This easy and short trail starts from the main junction inside Aghavnavank, where you can find local guesthouses and a grocery store. You then walk towards the Gosh–Chambarak highway and reach the Getik River. After the trail crosses to the other side of the river, it continues through bushes and sparse trees. In some parts, the hiking trail meets dirt roads going uphill.
Throughout the hike, the highway and the river wind alongside you. Dzoravank village is located in the valley next to the river, where the trail ends. From here, the ANT continues with another stunning section in the Gegharkunik region, opening up to the blue horizon of Lake Sevan and a variety of landscapes. After Dzoravank, the trail continues 7,6 km to one of the most famous villages in this area—the high-up village of Kalavan.
