Lake Sevan and the mountain ranges bordering the lake are endlessly beautiful in any season of the year. you have to hike in the Gegharkunik region to understand why the locals call the lake "a sea".

Sona took us on a half-day 8k hike along the ridge of mountains near Sevan (town) to the Sevanavank monastery. She was really professional, well organised and the short hike was great fun. I must highlight Sona's engagement with local hiking club and her work with young people: we met some of them on the way and were delighted by how well they behaved in nature, how they collected all their and others rubbish. I believe it is essential to support the work of these volunteers who keep the nature of their home maintained and accessible to all of us.

I’ve hiked with Sona three times—twice in Gegharkunik and once in Tavush—and every experience has been fantastic. Her positivity and love for the outdoors made each hike truly special, and I’m grateful for the unforgettable memories. Sona is an amazing guide!
