The trail from Chkalov to Dsegh spans 6.3 km, cutting through pastures and dense forests. Beginning at the heart of Chkalov, near a 19th-century church, the trail leads away from the village, passing an old barn with an abandoned truck. Continuing through the forests, it eventually reaches a hilly meadow with a water spring. As you ascend, the trail offers a breathtaking view of the Pambak canyon and surrounding mountain ranges. Further along, you will come across an unexpected sight: an orange metallic carousel beside a picnic area. Usually, surprises are common along the trail, but riding a carousel atop a mountain peak is particularly unexpected.

After enjoying the carousel, the path leads through an alley to an open pasture. Here, you will spot a small chapel and three dirt roads. Of these, the middle road, flanked by two meant for vehicles, leads deeper into the forest. Exiting the forest, you will encounter a water spring flowing into an old large bathtub. Descending from here, the trail leads to Dsegh, eventually bringing you to the village grocery store.

The trail concludes on Dsegh's main road, where you can explore further by crossing the street to visit the medieval graveyard with unique stone works, or you can head towards the village center to visit the house-museum of renowned Armenian writer Hovhannes Tumanyan. If you are up for more adventure, there are several biking trails around Dsegh, and bikes are available for rent at WOW Glamping.

Water sources/information:
The initial water source is situated directly in front of the church in the center of Chkalov. Along the trail, before reaching the picnic area with the carousel, another water source can be found. Exiting the forests with a view of Dsegh, you'll encounter a memorial stone with water flowing into a large bathtub. Prior to entering the village streets, you'll encounter two fenced picnic areas with water springs. Another spring is located near the houses just a few meters ahead.

Trail Notes:
Upon leaving Chkalov, several meters of the trail are often muddy due to irrigation water pipes. Continuing towards a large pasture, the path through the bushes features deep trenches, which can be particularly challenging to navigate after rainfall. As you progress deeper into the forest beyond the pasture, you'll encounter a significant leak from a large irrigation water pipe a few meters below, complicating the hike for a short distance.
