The trail connecting the villages of Hagvi and Amoj is 5.4 km long. It traverses cozy paths with breathtaking views of the Debed canyon in several sections. The hike begins in the center of Hagvi, in front of the church and the water spring. Walking through the streets of Hagvi, you cross an asphalt road and start climbing a dirt road. The climb is gentle and about 1.5 km long. At the top, a large pasture opens up, and while the dirt road continues deep into the forest, the ANT trail turns left and goes through the meadows.
After crossing a stream, the trail ascends through bushes and trees. As the forested part ends, you'll find yourself in front of a hill with the ruins of a medieval fortress and a church. From here, you can enjoy stunning views of the entire Debed canyon, surrounding villages, and the highest mountains in the distance.
You can also see the trail descending towards Amoj. The villages of Amoj and Odzun are clearly visible from this spot. The trail ends in front of the village barns, with a small grocery store just a few steps away from the trailhead sign. From here, you can continue your hike for 2 km to the next village of Odzun.
Water sources/information:
The water springs are located inside the villages of Hagvi and Amoj, with no water sources along the trail. In Amoj, just a few steps down from the ANT trailhead sign, you will find a water monument dedicated to WWII.
