Located 15 km away from Tatev Monastery near the isolated village of Tandzaver, this loop trail is home to Armenia’s first land art museum — an open-air museum of art made using the natural environment. Art lovers, this trail is for you!

The land art museum that you can hike through on this loop trail is the result of the first Magic Forest Festival, which took place in the village in August 2019. A total of 10 art pieces made using the natural environment were created by both local and international artists, and are on permanent display in this open air gallery . Take your time on this 5.5 km trail to discover what artists were inspired to create, and ponder the meaning of each piece...

In addition to Armenia’s first land art museum, the trail will take you through a forest of oak trees that are over 100 years old, and to an open field at the summit of Mt. Ashkharates, which literally means “see the world” in Armenian. Why is this mountain called “see the world"? Because on a clear day, you can see all the way into neighboring Iran! The Magic Forest Loop connects to the Legends Trail route, a 300 km hiking route that spans the Syunik Province.
