You’re going to fall in love with this campsite! Located by the gorgeous Lake Karmir (aka Lake Allij) near the village of Artavan, Artavan Campsite is operated by Garnik and his family. Garnik is a ranger working with the World Wildlife Foundation Armenia (WWF), and knows everything there is to know about the wildlife in the area. When he’s not protecting local wildlife like the Persian leopard (yes, that’s his job!), he's leading hikes and helping his family host guests at the campsite. They have everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay, including tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads (available for rent), plus showers, bathrooms, electricity and WiFi. They’ll also gladly prepare delicious, locally-sourced breakfast, lunch and dinner for you at cost—just let them know! You may just learn a local recipe or two.
