Yerevan Lake, nestled in the heart of Armenia's bustling capital, serves as a peaceful retreat amid the urban expanse. This artificial reservoir is not just a place of tranquility but also a site of historical valor. Did you know? In 1976, Yerevan Lake was the scene of an extraordinary act of heroism by Shavarsh Karapetyan, an Armenian finswimmer. After hearing a crash, Karapetyan discovered a trolleybus that had plunged into the lake, lying 10 meters underwater. In a daring rescue, he dove into the murky depths, breaking through the back window of the bus to save 20 people trapped inside!

Here, adventurers can dare to taste Khash, a traditional Armenian delicacy made from the less-trodden parts of a cow or sheep - its feet, head, and stomach. Nestled in a U-shaped valley, Lake Kari serves as the perfect backdrop for climbers and hikers to challenge their taste buds with this hearty winter soup, celebrated for its rich flavors and unique preparation.
